Tanat - Frinsa Manis #3
This bold coffee is a real gem that challenges all preconceived ideas about Indonesian coffees.
Grown at an altitude of 1400 meters in the Weninggalih region of West Java by visionary producer Wildan Mustofa and the Frinsa Collective, the "Frinsa Manis #3" batch lives up to its name, as Manis means "sweet" in Indonesian. Far removed from the region's traditional earthy profiles, this coffee is the result of a highly precise, experimental natural processing method; the cherries undergo a prolonged anaerobic fermentation of 72 hours before being carefully dried in a greenhouse to ensure perfect aromatic clarity.
It offers a vibrant, complex and deliciously funky cup, revealing on the attack the bright acidity of blood orange, supported by the exuberance of tropical fruits, before ending on an intense and comforting finish of dark chocolate.
