Friedhats - FES Bourbon 120N
Friedhats go way back with Rodolfo, to the point that they get asked constantly about the return of his coffees when they’re missing from the lineup. This year they are featuring two different lots in their rotation, starting with this anaerobic natural bourbon lot which is basically a Friedhats classic at this point. A boozy tropical explosion that’s as familiar as it is tasty, and they’re thrilled to have it back.
This coffee is produced by Rodolfo Ruffatti who runs Finca El Salvador in the Santa Ana mountain range. Here he has used the classic Bourbon varietal— a foundational heritage cultivar prized for its balanced character and approachable sweetness.
Bourbon coffees tend to develop rich, complex profiles that bridge fruit-forward and chocolatey notes, though the specific expression depends heavily on processing and terroir.
