F.A.Q.

What roasters are included?

At Micro we source coffee from who we believe to be the best and most exciting roasters around the world. Our list of roasters is extensive and ever evolving, but you can expect roasters such as:

  • Tanat : Paris
  • People Possession : Paris
  • DAK : Amsterdam
  • A.M.O.C. : Rotterdam
  • Round Hill : Bath
  • Sweven : Bristol
  • Taith : Lewes
  • Mazelab : Prague
  • MAME : Zurich
How much coffee is in a bag?

The amount of coffee in bags varies between roasters, but for our Subscription service there will at least be 200g - 250g of beans in each bag.

If you choose the 'Excellent' style for any of your bags will default to 200 - 250g, but we will also contact you to give you the option of smaller bags so we can include even higher quality coffee in your package.

What are the coffee styles?

The specialty coffee movement has taken the flavours found in coffee from predominantly chocolate and nuts to a whole new world including fruits, candy and floral notes. When we talk about flavours in coffee these are typically not added ingredients, but ways to describe the flavours in the cup similarly to describing a wine as having cherry or citrus notes.

Here are a few examples of what to expect:

Classic : Tasty coffees that you can enjoy all day or for a cosy weekend brew

  • Washed Ethiopia with notes of stone fruit and florals
  • Washed Kenya with notes of dark berries and citrus
  • Washed Honduras with notes of red fruits and milk chocolate
  • Natural Colombia with notes of tropical fruits and balanced sweetness

Excellent : High quality beans with defined flavour profiles to take a moment to pause and enjoy.

  • Washed Ethiopia with defined notes of peach, apricot, jasmine and white tea
  • Advanced processed Colombia with notes of pineapple, mango and key lime pie
  • Rare varietals such as Geisha, Ombligon or Sidra
  • Exclusive producers such as Hacienda La Esmeralda, Finca Las Flores and Nestor Lasso

Experimental : Coffee beans that have gone through innovative processes to bring out flavours that are not typically found in coffee. These coffees can provide incredible flavour experiences, but are normally too intense to drink all day long!

  • Anaerobic natural Ethiopia with notes of blueberry jam and cherry ice cream
  • Lactic Washed Colombia with notes of ginger, lemongrass, banana and raspberry
  • Carbonic Maceration Natural with notes of lime, kumquat, jasmine and white chocolate
  • Thermal shock processed Colombia with notes of cardamom, cinnamon and honey cake
